As usual, I'm working on multiple projects at once.  My major one is an afghan that is made of 12 blocks, each one a different design and 12 inches square.   But that really is more like a lap blanket, so I decided to do 36 squares to make it big enough for our bed.   I'm using three different shades of gray.  I also decided to make 6 of the blocks a dusty blue to add a little more color.

Although I'm knitting the blanket as part of a class, I'm really only in the class to keep me inspired to finish the project.  We will be on Block #9 on Monday.  Each week we are given one block to do, but I make 3 of each.  I am on the third block of #8 right now.  Just as I finished the second of my three blocks for week 8, it occurred to me that next Thursday is a dear friend's birthday and I was going to knit her a summer scarf.  So I picked some yarn and a pattern (the diagonal summer scarf from the current issue of Knit Simple) and started on that.   Oh, by the way, I'm also working on a shawl called "Dinner in the Eiffel Tower" from Ravelry.   It's beautiful, but I made a mistake and put it away for a while.   And THIS is how multiple projects are created.

Here's the link for the Dinner in the Eiffel Tower shawl:
